News Release was established in Los Angeles, California in 1973 by a group of young men who had a desire to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of Europe. They longed to share the message of Jesus through the avenue of basketball.
Our aim is to exemplify how Christianity is more than just a doctrine or a set of beliefs, but that it is a relationship that changes lives.
NEWS RELEASE BASKETBALL is a contemporary ministry that continually seeks after God’s heart for us and the world. We will continue to serve by providing basketball camps and clinics and sharing the Gospel message for all to hear.
We will continue to bring players and coaches who have demonstrated a high level of leadership, character, integrity, and above all, a love for Jesus.
Christ’s ministry was centered on relationships – it is our goal to do the same in a fun and exciting way. We return to coach in each city year after year in hopes of strengthening the bonds of friendship that have formed over a long period of time between News Release Basketball and the clubs, hosts, and people that we meet.
Our teams provide high-level camps and clinics to the communities and countries we visit. Along with the instructional camps and clinics, we sometimes play in exhibition 5v5 or 3v3 games as a means for sharing our stories, teaching life-lessons, and building strong lasting relationships with kids, families and .
News Release Basketball has served in every European country, from Sweden to Italy, Spain to Russia, and all places in between, as well as the continents of Asia, Africa, and North America. We share our stories to all those we meet, and all cultures we experience. We assist local churches, missionaries, and service organizations in partnering with God’s family throughout the world.
To present the good news of Jesus Christ, and develop disciples of our Lord by building Christ-centered relationships using the sport of basketball.
We want TO BE AND BUILD THE FAMILY OF GOD, characterized by a devotion to:
experiencing awe and wonder, meeting with gladness and sincerity; enjoying favor with God and man. (Acts 2:42-47)
